Having lived in a Wisconsin for the majority of my life, I have come to expect the frequent snow storm, and have learned to adjust to it.

I often find myself driving through snow storms and on one such occasion something perfect happened. "upmann" started playing on my ipod while I was driving under snow covered trees, and it was one of those rare exemplary moments.

Maps and atlases are the kind of band that remind you of the earlier jazzy math rock bands of the nineties. You know the type right? let me list a few.

Owls American football ghosts and vodka etc.

And yes, In case you're wondering. Maps and atlases are based out of Chicago, but the difference between these guys and those bands listed above are many.

Owls would never dream of playing a song this fast or technical.

American football would be afraid to raise their volume this high, even after countless lines of coke.

And although Ghosts and vodka come the closest to matching the guitar virtuosity of Maps and atlases, they lack the emotion that make Maps and atlases so great to begin with.
