Fans expecting a live, by-the-numbers retread of the Fiery Furnaces’ latest album, Bitter Tea, were likely disappointed by the band’s performance at The Black Cat in D.C. last night. After all, vocalist Eleanor Friedberger did open the show by claiming they would be playing songs from their most recent effort. Finally got around to buying the album to check out all the new tracks on their latest endeavor and was quite pleased...I really dig their eccentric electronic rock sound. I hear that one of their prior albums - Blueberry Boat was was much better but I haven't gotten around to listening.. is anyone else a fan? Is it worth the time and little money I possess to grab that album as well?
