I dig their music and I think they're getting better and better.....I did a poster for tonight's show in Berkeley (see above)... I'm looking forward to it... Taking a quick glance across the crowd you could be forgiven for thinking this was an outdoor - floppy fringes dripping an alarming amount of water onto red faces. But instead we are (finally) deep in the heart of Manchester Uni, and the torrential rain that plagued the queue is somewhat of a memory. I was psyched that I got to see Tegan and Sara this week! This show was a departure for me because I had been going to hard rock shows like Billy Talent and Rise Against all summer. I didn’t know what to expect at an indie pop show…busted up laughing to see Sara in a Cancer Bats (hardcore band) Tshirt! i've been a long-time fan of the twin sister duo, Tegan and Sara. i own most of their music but a few weeks ago came across an unreleased song of theirs that stunned me (and few things actually have that effect). their song called, "When I Get Up," while not their most lyrically creative piece, showcases their unique duet skills and beautiful harmonies. i'm just sad that the song is only about 2:30 minutes long and the only version i could find is a live performance. ... been to a show and felt like you were the only one there? Maybe not the only person, but maybe just one of like a half dozen people? Last Thursday was my night, and it was beautiful. I've been to plenty of shows here in Indy at the Egyptian Ball Room. It's one of my favorite local venues. It's a large, open room with great acoustics. Well, it's normally a large open room. I'm on cloud nine today. I finally got to see Tegan & Sara in concert. Brian and I got there at 6pm. I went to get our will call tickets, and I instructed him to wait in line - just incase the Halo Bar was to capacity. Luckily, it wasn't so, I called Brian. Before we entered the Halo Bar, I wanted to check out the merchandise. I got up the to the table in time to get the demo CD, but they didn't take credit card - CASH ONLY. for the first time in a long while, the radio has introduced me to a new band that i actually like. I've been superbusy with school and my new sideproject, which you might be able to check out soon at my sketchblog. I needed to get back on because I had no idea that this record was around. Tegan and Sara have come a mini-obsession of mine since seeing them in concert at the Zellerbach a little while back. This happens when I see a band in concert. I go back to their discography and start listening to it over and over again until I'm sick of it.

I get to see Tegan and Sara in concert tonight for the first time ever. I'm so freaking giddy right now. I hope to get there an hour and a half before the show. I want a copy of The Con Demos. I downloaded a copy yesterday, but that doesn't count. I want the physical copy! I have my camera all charged up to take photos. I can't wait!

Hey, check it out! I'm posting a song that's not 15 years old. Hell, this is so recent it almost qualifies as new. The song is Burn Your Life Down by Tegan & Sara, from their most recent "The Con." I like every song I've heard from this album so far; I may have to break down and go buy it. Next up, I'll post Back in Your Head, another song from "The Con."
