Blog post image preview Canadian singer/songwriter Sam Roberts released his first true debut in 2002, following a popular demo he had made in Montreal. Before that point, he had been a violin player that eventually moved on to guitar and started a rock band with his friends. After getting a little feature on Much Music, they decided to try their luck in Los Angeles, where they disbanded in 1998. The band didn't get any positive reactions from record labels, but that didn't stop Roberts from going... MORE

Blog post image preview I'd waited a long time (3 years) for SRB to tour (headlining) before I could see them in Los Angeles. They were absolutely amazing. Talk about raw energy and fantastic musicianship, wrapped around brilliant songs. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommended. One from the Troubadour show last year....

Blog post image preview This is what I'm having for breakfast, at my office desk. Here's the link for Sam Roberts: http://www.samrobertsband.com/web/news/index.php If you read my earlier post about Paste Magazine, you'll know that it's my new favorite Music mag. I mentioned that someone had left a copy in the reading for exercise pile at the local gym. Well, I couldn't believe it, but the person apparently didn't even care to listen to the 2 cd collection that was included in the magazine. ... MORE

Sam Mellow

I like this track. It could be my favourite from Chemical City. Thoroughly mellow and the mode changes near the end are just simply fun to listen to.
