GRIZZLY BEAR Brooklyn-based Grizzly Bear was a treat onstage. All members contribute vocals (which is a rarity these days) to craft ethereal rock grooves- light, atmospheric, and harmony-friendly.

Radiohead is releasing their most recent basement tape footage via iTunes. Ten videos of tracks from Radiohead's In Rainbows, originally recorded at The Hospital studio in Covent Gardens for the band's longtime producer Nigel Godrich's 'From the Basement' TV series (http://www.fromthebasement.tv/), will be released. If you purchase the video collection iTunes throws in a bonus CD included with the album's deluxe disc box. These videos are major since Godrich helms the soun... MORE
It's finally here. After buying tickets what seems like years ago, the date has finally arrived on the calendar. Apart from them consistently being my favourite band for more than a decade, there's such a huge sense of import around this concert. This is the only band I follow with fan club-like allegiance. Who's music I dote on and analyse and scrutinize. I read all the clippings and reviews as if they were my band. Not to mention every song and album are a testament t... MORE

Radiohead recently completed a video for their song "House Of Cards" without the use of video cameras. The movements of Thom Yorke and the actors cast in the video were captured by structured light and lasers. Large scenes were filmed by using the Velodyne Lidar process, which used sixty four lasers shooting 900 times per minute. Close up scenes were captured by structured light. All of this "footage" will be made available to fans online so they can compile a music vi... MORE
Pizza, dogs, skyscrapers...and Lollapalooza. It's all happening here in beautiful downtown Chicago. I just wrapped up day one of the world-famous festival, and it already feels like day three. I'm not surprised the exhaustion has sunk in so quickly; between the humidity, heat, and 70,000+ fans coming in each day, you'd be lucky not to drop dead in the middle of Grant Park. I checked out the area the night before the party started and it all looked great. Add the insane cr... MORE
G LOVE @ Lollapalooza 2007 You Moggers got recommended acts (asides from the obvious? Radiohead, Kanye) I just touched down in Chi-town... and can feel the humidity in the air. Reminds me of good old Lolla. One of the best festivals state-side....romantically wedged in the center of Chicago....yet on palatial park grounds.... In reminiscing about lolla last year.....I pulled up an old article I wrote for Aced Magazine on the festival...........Thought I'd share- Ho... MORE
I was at Radiohead's Boston show in nearby Mansfield on Wed. This was obviously a big deal to me. Radiohead, besides being synonymous with how to do things the right way, is one of those bands that I have been listening to since I first started to search out music on my own. The Bends was among the first 5 albums I ever spent my own hard-won cash on. Don't ask what the others were. They have been with me since that eager beginning. But seeing them live, that was a thing of... MORE
(Drinking outside a pub in the sun before the gig, two blond guys roller-blade past, holding hands.) Richie: Very San Francisco.Me: They have to be American, don’t they? Irish gays stay indoors and drink themselves to death.Richie: Want another pint?Me: What are you trying to say? (On train to the gig, we see a Miller poster.)Me: Have you seen those Miller ads on TV. With all the hipsters? This is aspirational? This is what they think we want to be? A hipster with a bear... MORE
The music world is getting slaphappy with vinyl. Only yesterday Mogger Mollifire wrote about Best Buy resurrecting LPs in their stores. Now Capitol/EMI will reissue albums from Radiohead and Coldapy and more in the format August 19th in a series called "From the Capitol Vaults." (wonder how Radiohead feels about Capitol banking on these?)Expect the suckers to be covered in their original artwork and re-mastered on high quality polymor -- 12-inch records will get stamped... I just can't get enough of the new Radiohead video. Made with lasers, it presents a beautiful view of what our world looks like on a different wavelength. I find myself flip-flopping between succumbing to the match of imagery and music, and wondering how much of it is accident. The way the image breaks up around the edge of Thom Yorke's head; what look like interference patterns on his face; the collapse in parts of the exterior scenes; are these intentional? Not that it m... MORE
