I have been anxiously awaiting the new album...I like many other people never was tuned into MM until _Good News_ came out....although I would like to have been quite cool and been listening to them since they played their first house party...alas I was not. In any case...since _Good News_ I have been exploring their back catalog and have fallen in love with nearly all of their albums. So who else went to this fantastic fiesta of a festival? This was actually my first festival ever! I know, 29 and behind the times. What a good start though. Although the days temps were exhaustingly hot, so were the bands! The Police, The Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, Modest Mouse, Wu-Tang Clan, Bad Brains, Regina Spektor, Spoon, M.I.A., 311, Yeah Yeah Yeahs just to name a FEW! This is my first one, so It may be trash, as I haven't the slightest idea what to do.
This song is one of the better indie singles I have heard in quite some time. The album it's on is absolutely amazing. A bit of punk, a bit of indie, a bit of who knows what, it's a deffinate must have.

First time on this site and i got to say it's pretty cool looking... First off Modest Mouse is awesome and just might be the greatest band in the world. They got to me in a way no other music ever had. I used to not really be into music that much. Now i browse a lot of MM and other stuff that might be akin to the epitome of awesomeness that is MM. more then a week ago XRT, a radio station here in chicago, played modest mouse's new single, dashboard. i was at work in an echoy bakery and it was difficult to hear. but i felt disappointed. tonight i happened upon it online and gave it an actual listening to. i'm still not all that impressed. i keep coming across posts whinging about the modest mouse past. they want the modest mouse we were listening to years ago. i loved it then and even now, but they needed to gr... whoooa, it has been awhile. i was thinking about buying the new modest mouse cd. i like the single a lot. i get annoyed when it is described as "radio-friendly"...to me it is just modest mouse, and that is that. modest mouse is one of those bands that changes its sounds with basically every record (at least i think so)...that is what makes them pretty much awesome. the only song that i don't really like by them is "float on"....i have heard that dang song so much in th... I'm really not sure what to think of this new Modest Mouse song "Dashboard". It has the typical "Good News..." dance beat background, typical Issac Brock lispy shouts, new and improved Johnny Marr background vocals and quick fire Smiths style guitars. But for some reason it seems a bit too upbeat. I'm not sure. It is catchy that is for sure. What do you think?

I heard the new Modest Mouse album and I really liked it. Especially, "March On"(i think that's what it's called), and "Missed the Boat." "Spitting Venom" was really amusing too. I'm going to see Against Me! on thursday! They're playing with this really great band called Fake Problems. The name kind of makes them sound juvenile, but they're not. Check them out.
