Blog post image preview Alright. I realized this a while back and figured i'd share on my post. Why? Who knows. Partly cause i think its freakin awesome and partly cause its late. i got a tattoo in february. I love it. I had put some thought into it and it has a meaningful story behind it. (people, on the other hand, look at me like i'm retarded when i tell them the meaning)The tattoo is my own personal independence day. I got a Roman Numeral tattooed on my forearm. well i was listening to Modest... MORE

Wondering what to do for the 'Roo? Here's a little advice from a two-year veteran. DO try to arrive as early as you can. Not only are the car-inspection lines (yes, your car will be searched, albeit gently) on Thursday afternoon considerably shorter, but you’ll also likely be directed to camping much closer to the Bonnaroo action. This beats a 15-20 minute walk from your tent to the stage. DO dress smart. Bonnaroo is held in June on a Tennessee farm with limited shade ... MORE

It's a Small, Strange World

So I stepped out of drum lessons today, and I decided to give "This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About" by Modest Mouse a first spin. "Dramamine" comes on, and I'm hooked. I look to my left, and I notice a huge amount of smoke. Coming from the direction of my house. I start to walk across the desert towards the flames (very Jim Morrisson-esque). All the while, the possibilities are running through my head. Is it my house? A friend's? Maybe the near... MORE

so ive been taking in high doses of good indie-guitar-rock albums for the past week. these albums have ranged from pavement's "wowee zowee" to modest mouse's "this is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about". and holy fuck has it been awesome. i had been on a stoner rock/trippy techno kick through most of spetember and it had finally gotten too intense for me, i needed to chill out...so i took some dramamine...

widespread and phish fucked up the whole connotation of the word jam. because of theme everyone thinks jamming is some rediculous thing that takes up way too much time and sounds gay...except for the people who actually dig phish and panic. anyhow id just like to point out that modest mouse got it right on their song make everyone happy/mechanical birds. goddamn they cant do any wrong.

Blog post image preview so, i was reading another post about how you can now "trust yourself" on mog, and i can't figure out how to do it. it's like how i can't be my own friend on myspace. who, if not myself, CAN i trust?and anyhow, the reason this is funny is that i was listening to _talking shit about a pretty sunset_ by modest mouse at the time, and if you know the song, you'll get why that's funny. if you don't, here are the lyrics: _Oh noose, tied myself in, tied myself too tight.__Lo... New to the west coast a few years ago, my head was jammed with radio hits. They started sounding really boring and blase...then someone gave me a modest mouse cd and I was introduced to indie rock, an undiscovered treasure cove of awesome music. Thanks, Seattle sound!

Listening to Modest Mouse + a mild New York winter reminiscent of the Northwest = comfort food for the soul.
