I'm blaming january. Every year this months makes me depressive. It's grey, rainy, windy and cold. I walk around daydreaming trying to make days pass. I feel sorry for my family.............they have to put up with this every single year. January 23 was the day. I've enjoyed my time hear although I don't post as often as I used to. Thanks to everyone who've become friends and thanks to everyone who've introduced me to great music. I don't think I've ever been introduce... MORE
Sorry to be so obtuse...but I am a bit tipsy and I had a revelation that I am not able to put into words right now. I mean I don't think I could actually type well enough to get my point across.
I will just say that second chances are far and few between...and for whatever reason I was granted one...and now its time to make it count. Stay tuned....more to come...carpe diem,
Luckily this story ends differently. My computer, God knows how, was able to import all the tracks perfec... MORE
i'm in tin top, texas. it's not so near denton. nor anything, for that matter. there's a freeway, then a paved road, then an unpaved road, and then: tin top. miles of flatness, a gun store, a few sheds and a handful of cows. this week, tin top's been soaked through by thunderstorms, the kind that sneak in and unleash. There's something very comforting about Damien's soft spoken folk songs. Even when he's lamenting about cheating husbands and killers he still makes you quietly tap your foot and hum sympathetically.

Doing the singer-songwriter thing is a hard thing to do well, but Damien Jurado does it in spades. The songs are filled with poignant melodies and melancholy orchestration. Th... MORE

Got a up close and personal experience at the Damien Jurnado show last night. About 30-40 attendees total, many of us sat on the floor about 5 feet away from him. The man has definitely has a talent for song-writing, clever turns of phrase and is a fine musician. I DO wish that he would branch out a bit topically. The guy only writes 'winter' songs. In other words, most of his songs are melancholy, and feel rather emo. I don't think that the type of folk genre he wo... MORE
