Let this serve as a warning, gentle reader. A record exec acquaintance passed me a copy of Daft Punk's previous album _Human After All_ about three months before its official release. A question for today? How can live electronica blow my mind so HARD? How could the anti-heroes in Daft Punk turn club music into a full blown concert experience??? Ask anyone who saw them at Coachella last year....they owned the place.

Daft Punk have added more tour dates following their Ocotber 27th gig at Vegoose Festival in Las Vegas. Unfortunately non of them are in the US, but some people in Japan are going to be happy. The duo are heading west after a Halloween stop in Mexico City and making stops in both Japan and Australia. The live album Daft Punk Alive 2007 will be released November 20th. According to their ex-manager Busy P, the duo have finally started work on a follow up to 2005's Human After All in Paris.
"The boys are in a studio in Paris at the moment. And I can't wait to listen to their new stuff! The good thing is that they are making music at the moment.

Daft Punk will release their live album, Daft Punk Alive 2007 on November 20th, Spin.com is reporting. The live album was recorded in Paris this past summer and will feature 27 tracks. Extra added bonuses include a fan shot and Olivier Gondry-directed video for "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," a 50-page "digi-book" featuring photos from the tour and an extra five tracks come with the bonus encore disc. One of the videos in "Musique Vol. I 1993 - 2005".
For me, the CD from this compilation goes from great to plain good about halfway in, and I just saw them not long ago with their new show everyone is talking about, but this video makes me wish I could have seen them back then really bad. A far rawer setup, way more hardware oriented and no pyrotechnics in comparison, but still awesome.

I was lucky my friend DJ had another friend who bailed at the last minute because by the time I looked for a ticket they were sold OUT. After their pyramid robot spaceship landed it began spewing rhythmic columns of lightsmoke. I was just talking to my roommates about how concert promoters have a way of hyping a show/band that can make you feel duped afterward. Back in 1997 I saw the first OzzFest tour. It was billed as the last time Black Sabbath (w/ Mike Bordin filling in for original drummer Bill Ward) would play. The lineup included Pantera and Marilyn Manson.
