I haven't got anything grand to report... just a quick hey & a hope you are all doing better than this Lizzieness. my musical mind is like a maze of random notes, chords and lyrical refrains. i start with something that is often random and often it twists and turns and winds itself into something else, and then another something, and then upside down and around again. tanya donelly's acrobat led me to catherine wheel's sun staring that led to this song that always gives me those surface of the skin and down to the soul chills. this song reminds me of side a of a mixed tape ... Thought I would add something from the great, underrated Catherine Wheel. These guys I always thought were awesome, even their b-sides (and there are many), like this one, were as good as anything that appeared on their albums.

I know right off when I hear a song if I get the chills then the song is with me forever.(and forever is a very long time,thank you Prince).

Frolicking around Europe for a combination of work and pleasure is fun, but when it comes to my next trip, the flip side is now clear. Wow, I just posted a little "blast from the past" on Anna's MOG, and it got me thinking about my old favorite (aw hell, still high up there) band, Catherine Wheel. I watched a movie a few months back called "Millions," which, among other things was about a young boy who was obsessed with saints. One day in school, he spoke of St. Catherine of Alexandria. I'm not Catholic, so I knew nothing of Saints, but I liked the little boy's description of the Catherine Wheel, so I ... MORE

yup when i first moved to atlanta georgia to form my first band, i couldn't help but notice that, after being in boston, where the clubs were dives and people dressed in black, that southerners will go on stage in khaki shorts and tank tops in a mini mall record store - and call it a 'gig.' It was daunting. I still had my black dyed hair, black jeans, hot clothes, and in hot I mean uncomfortable... but i can say, i never did succomb to wearing shorts at a gig. that's just ... MORE
