Josh Homme playing at Reading yesterday; . . 24 August 2008 - Speaking to the Music Week on 6 Music, Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme exclusively revealed that he will be producing new material by the Arctic Monkeys.

The Arctic Monkeys look set to dominate next month’s NME awards, with a record seven nominations for: Best Band, Best Live, Best Album, Best Track (Fluorescent Adolescent), Best Video (Teddy Picker) and Best Album Artwork categories. Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys has revealed that the band plans to work on new material this summer in preparation for a new album. Although they don't have any plans to put the album out in '08, the fact that they're creating again is a great sign. "We did a bit [writing and demo-ing] in January," Turner told BBC 6Music. I wanted to like this gig..no in fact I wanted to love it... seeing one of my favourite bands of all time for the second time this year, in a smaller, more powerful venue, it had all the ingredients of a memorable night. Arctic Monkeys' frontman Alex Turner has revealed that the hype around the band was recently so pronounced in the US that North American fans believed that Oasis had supported them in the UK.
"When we were in America recently there were loads of rumours that they had supported us in Manchester," he said. "Everyone asked us, 'it must have been ace having Oasis support you'".

Well, that was shit.
Can't blame the band - more the dickheads (too weak a word really) who seemed less interested in fine British indie and more interested in making everyone's life a misery.
Maybe we should have away with this whole live music thing - people ruin it.
