I thought you were gonna post her Billie Holiday cover - "Bloody Sunday" I think. The suicide song - I did a cassette mix once where Lydia (her version was from the Queen of Siam album) and Billie were cut back and forth, a bizarre duet that worked.

I sometimes wonder how much money Mr Smith makes. The must have been times in his 30 year career when he almost had to get another job because his records have never sold that well. (I never read his autobiography, maybe he did.)

I remember talking to a couple of guys out of the Bluetones about this a few years ago. Pretty well known in the UK they had 3 or 4 Top 30 singles and a couple of albums that may have crawled into the Top 20 for a couple of weeks. They rekoned that they got just enough money in their 'hot' period for a (small) house and where living on around £10-£15k per year. A lot of 'fans' don't seem to realize that a lot of their hero's actually earn less then they do...
