Last week i was harping on about the state of good pop music. This guy is step two in my believing that good pop still exists (Captain being #1).
Take vaudeville music, a strong Belfast accent, dreadlocks, a classical sensibility, and honest, simple lyrics and you have Duke Special. This, his second album (his debut 'Adventures in Gramophone' is also excellent.
Any singer/songwriter fans looking for a new sound with a circus feel but without the clowns, give the Duke a try.
