I saw the Presidents of the USA play live at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.  I was hoping to get a couple video clips from down on the main floor where they are more interesting, but the club policy doesn't allow cameras.  While waiting for the show to start, I chatted with Kate at the merch counter, who happens to be Chris Ballew's girlfriend.  She was very nice, and helped me get a  poster for their new album signed by all the members of the band.  She pointed out that Jason Finn was standing behind me, and got a sig from Chris when he came by the merch counter to say Hi to her.  I got the last sig from Andrew after the show was over.  I just walked up to the stage area, and he was still hanging around talking with some fans.  Here's one clip, and there are more on my YouTube page if you want to check them out.  The show was great, although the lighting wasn't the best for recording video footage.

I thought you lived over in Virginia or somewhere nearby. Glad you had a great time at the show. PUSA is great & still doing it. Great clip, love the song "Lump"!

Have you heard from Chucky/Ashley at all? She's disappeared from the face of Mog & everywhere else.

I moved from Raleigh, NC to San Jose, CA in March.  I think I had one exchange email w/ Chucky/Ashley since I moved out here.  She's notorious for dropping off the radar, and then popping back out of nowhere.  Let's hope everything is OK and we'll see her again.

Wow, that was quite a move for you. How do you like CA? I'm north of San Fran.

I know Chucky's famous for falling off the radar. I do hope she's ok. We were really good friends & mogmailed & emailed each other & we had exchanged phone #s too. Last time I tried her # it had been switched over to someone new who didn't know her. Grrr. I do hope we'll see her again . . . .

So later the same night after seeing the Gore Gore Girls, The headline act took the stage. I really liked the energy of this band, but on this particular night, they had the PA turned up a little too high. My ears like too have at least a chance of understanding the words. It was still fun to frolic with the band as they handed out used items of clothing at the breaks between sets. ...and near the end of the show there was a dance contest where (female) audience members were invited to participate. Shortly after the dance contest, they brought buckets of fried chicken out, and tossed pieces out to the crowd. How many rock shows have you been to where they feed you? Overall, a great time was had by all in attendance. Here are a couple of videos I recorded at the show.

I was talked into going to see "Southern Culture on the Skids" at the Cat's Cradle last Saturday night. They were entertaining, but the real event of the evening was one of the warm-up bands... The Gore Gore Girls. It's a 4 girl line-up, with 2 guitars, bass player, and a drummer. The surprising, and delightful part was that they could really play. Here's a clip I recorded. Enjoy!
