I have been steadily digitizing my albums. Tonight this one was on deck.
This is a vinyl rip from a record that has been played more times than I can remember.
The single I hope you are listening to now came out in 1984, August to be exact.
These songs didn't make it to their self titled studio debut. Why, I don't know. But they were nice enough to add the songs on the second album 'Hatful of Hollow'.
The tracks that are on this single will stand the test of time.
Enjoy 'William'. Perhaps for the first time all over again.

I got a few singles to rip and I am really digging the 10-11 minute song nosh.

Interesting. I had heard the second song before. Never been a fan of The Smiths, by this time in my life (84), I was full on into metal by then, so this stuff never crossed my palette. However, in my latter years, a christian band came along called Mad At The World, and their first two releases, sounded like a cheesy keyboardy version of the first song on here. There were slight differences, but they used a fake british accent and everything. After the first couple of releases by MATW, they had moved onto "copying" the vibe of different artists via The Cult and Danzig for a few albums and the last one they released sounded like Jellyfish and then they died. I knew that when they started (in 87 I believe) that they were copying the sounds of a mid 80's brit pop band, but I didn't know who. And the last song sounds exactly like something off their second release, "Flowers In The Rain".
