It's been a busy past couple of weeks so forgive me for my lack of Mog existence.  I missed so many great posts over the holidays but it's my turn to share.  I'm a data sort of guy.  Numbers and information facinates me especially when it comes to music.  Thanks to Media players, we can throw numbers out left and right.  Let's not waste time and let me share my 2008 stats.

Saddened by the news I had to share.  MixWit, a great spot on the net to create online mix tapes has to close its virtual doors.

It truly is sad. I believe that no such site can actually survive in this day and age, sigh.

I'm optimistic that somewhere, somehow, there will be someone, somewhere making this concept happen.  Mind you, it may crumble 6 months down the road, but I still foresee others trying to replicate the concept (hopefully).

Am I the only one that was surprised to see Bob Mould's "See a Little Light" in some investment firm ad (TIAA)?  It was shocking and cool at the same time.  That reminds me, we should start a section on MOG that IDs all of the songs seen in TV ads.  That would be nice.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it myself.  I think I've seen the ad maybe 3 times so it's out there...

I've seen that ad, and it made me swivel in my chair to see what the heck was going on to have that song playing.
